Hiii!
First time here? Welcome.
Been around a bit? Welcome back!
If you like free digital tools, you are in the right place.
In some of these emails, we share cool AI tools or interesting ways to recreate content. Today we’re going simple.
But don’t be fooled — I LOVE both of these simple little tools. I use them both all the dang time.
Word Counter
Tool type: web app
When the last time you wrote something (a Twitter bio, a Linked about section, an answer to form) only to be given an error when you tried to save it.
You wrote some great copy - but you went over the character limit! 😤
You could count out your characters by hand, or you can copy and paste your text into WordCounter.net.
This simple web app only really does one thing (well, only one thing I care about), but it does it so well! It tells you how many words you have used. As well as how many characters. And it updates seamlessly as you edit, making it easy to get your word or character count down and within your limit.
And that’s it.
I probably use it once a week when I bump into one of those pesky error messages informing me I can’t hit submit until I shave a few characters off of my writing.
I’m guessing you will too.
FREE or FREEmium: FREE
This tool is totally free.
Percentage Calculator
Tool type: web app
Here’s another tool that might seem kinda… basic… at first glance. But I swear, I never write a report for a client without pulling it up for its very simple, but powerful capabilities.
Percentage Calculator does 3 types of math for you:
Those first to are fine and all. But it’s that third one I personally use all the time.
I’m writing a client report. I want to share our Instagram growth for the month. I know where we were last month. I know where we are now. The total growth number is simple subtraction.
But the percentage change? Well I’m sure I could do that math. But why would I?!
I drop in my numbers and voila:
So easy.
FREE or FREEmium: FREE
This simple tool is also completely free.
So that’s today’s tools. Like I mentioned above, they might not seem much at first glance. But I use them both all the dang time and I have a feeling you might as well.
Reply to this email and let me know if you think I’m right. Or wrong. Or just to say hey. I love free digital tools… as well as replies to Free Digital Tools!
Until next time,
