2 Free Digital Tools To Help You Navigate The New Email Spam and Deliverability Rules
Things are changing in the world of email. Be sure you know what's what.
SPF, DKIM, DMARC… WTF?!
Email sending has suddenly gotten a lot more complicated.
If you hadn’t already heard the news… now you have.
The news rules are specifically about programs that send over 5000 emails a day. But they are affecting all of us.
You can get a full breakdown from Google here.
Know anyone who might appreciate what we’re doing here, please invite them to join us!
So let’s dig into some tools to help you navigate these new changes.
Google Analyzer
Tool type: Website
Google knows a thing or two about email.
And they have a suite of tools they call their Postmaster Tools.
Had to gmail.com/postmaster to take advantage of their toolkit.
Once there, you can track your domain and see how healthy your email program is.
If you haven’t yet set everything up, they’ll provide guidance on doing so.
It takes time to track data, so you won’t see anything there when first starting out. But start tracking now, so you can refer back to their findings later.
FREE or FREEmium: FREE!
This is a free tool from Google.
Domain Scanner
Tool type: Website
This is a helpful tool for checking if you and/or any of your clients or partners are set up correctly and ready to go.
Head to easydmarc.com/tools/domain-scanner.
Once there, enter the relevant domain name.
I put in DonaldJTrump and here’s what I’ve found:
Yeah, they haven’t started dealing with this yet. If they don’t soon, they are going to have serious deliverability issues in the coming months (which they’ll obviously blame on the Deep State or George Soros or whatever).
Joe Biden on the other hand has started dealing with it. If you’re curious.
In email — like in life — be like Joe Biden, not like Donald Trump. 😉
FREE or FREEmium: FREE!
This is a free tool. Easy DMARC has a suite of paid tools they manage. But this one is free without a credit card, trial or even a login.
This is all very confusing. Really!
If you have a tiny email program, just be sure to follow the prompts at Mailchimp, Constant Contact or however you send emails.
If you have a huge list and you haven’t started dealing with this, do so soon or you’re going to start to have real issues getting your emails into people’s inboxes in the coming months.
Need anything from me? Hit reply. I’m always here for you!
If this was helpful for you, please consider forwarding it to a few friends.
See you in a fortnight.
Best,
Josh
