A cool and powerful illustrator and some fun with colors
Hey there!
Today let’s get our graphic design chops flowing.

designstripe
Tool type: Wep App
designstripe describes itself as “a smart design platform, like a combination of Canva and ChatGPT, that creates nearly ready-to-publish social media content, customizable and pre-branded for your business.”
It does a bunch of things. The tool we’re talking about today is their illustration creator.
There are lots of illustration tools on the internet. This one is fun though.
Then search their illustration catalog. You can search by trending, category, and by scenes or objects.
Once you have one you like, pick it and edit it accordingly.
You can change the colors (huge if you are working with an established brand!), add or remove items from the scene, test different styles (grayscale, linear, minimal…) and even switch out which objects are in your scene.
You can even edit the hair and skin color of your characters.
You can really customize whatever you need until you’re happy with the results.
Pretty fun!
FREE or FREEmium: Freemium
They have a bunch of free tools. If you want additional tools, you can upgrade for $14/month.
Magic Color Picker
Tool type: Web App
Okay, this one is kinda silly. But also fun!
It’s a really simple tool. You describe something in the text box - literally anything - and it will tell you what color they think fits that emotion
That’s it. haha
To try it out, head here.
Type in your prompt and get your suggestion.
I went with “a newsletter called free digital tools”.
Apparently, they missed the memo that I’m all orange all the time. But still fun.
You’ll notice they’re showing the color, as well as providing the corresponding hex code. And you can edit both the color and the vibrancy as needed.
Here’s “getting up before the sun.”
Again, this one’s silly. But can be a good way to get a feel for the emotion of your brand or product or even just the idea floating around in your head.
FREE or FREEmium: Freemium
You get 50 requests for free. Then you pay just $1 per 1000 requests.
As always, hit reply and show me what you made with today’s tools. Or with the hex code of your current mood.
Or with questions.
Or just to say hey.
If you like Free Digital Tools, you probably know others who will too. Invite them to join us. They’ll appreciate it… as will I!
See you in a fortnight.
